Step onto the red carpet ushering you into The State and you’ll be magically transported to Hollywood of yesteryear with it’s glitz,  glamour and Art Deco decor. We’re celebrating Hollywood’s Big Night with our annual Red Carpet Party & Dinner and a live simulcast from the Red Carpet so be sure come dressed to hobnob and dine like the star you are! It will be a night of flashbulbs and photos, and a fabulous buffet dinner prepared by Executive Chef John Surla of Surla’s Restaurant. Join us for our annual Oscar party (although we’re not allowed to call it that), along with hundreds of fellow movie-goers and film fans as we tarry over the latest and craziest developments in Tinsel Town. Bartenders will also be on hand at The State’s now-famous martini bar to shake (or stir) your favorite Cold House Vodka-made libations. Margaritas, Champagne cocktails and more will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Among the 2014 nominees are many of the films shown — or soon to be shown –- at The State so there’s going to be lots of cheers and jeers as we witness our favorites win or go down in defeat. Be sure and make a grand entry when we roll out the Red Carpet on a night for cinephiles to come together and celebrate their collective passion.

The menu for Hooray for Hollywood, courtesy of Executive Chef John Surla: Succulent mini short ribs served in a Cabernet reduction with mashed potatoes; grilled chicken skewers basted with Surla’s signature balsamic glaze and served over a bed of arugula, marcona almonds and red peppers; mac and cheese, made with Fiscalini Farms’ now-famous smoked Cheddar and topped with a drizzle of white truffle oil and garlic panko; Chef John’s homemade Pan de Leche, a milk bread that melts in your mouth. And, for dessert: A selection of delectable cakes slices will be served following the buffet.

There is no admission charged for attending this event; however, donations to the non-profit State Theatre are encouraged and welcome. The cost of the dinner buffet is $15. Alcoholic beverages are available to purchase.

Doors open at 4 p.m., just as the stars start strutting their stuff on the Red Carpet.
