Our Silicon Valley Superheroes aren’t all work and no play. They love to go out on the town and have fun. But that doesn’t mean they stop thinking about complex sociopolitical issues…

In fact just recently, our heroes attended The Stage’s 19th annual theatrical fundraiser featuring a collection of hilarious skits by well-known politicians and business people.
Nancy Pyle, a prominent councilwoman, was the star of the show and appeared on stage with Councilman Don Rocha, Ash Kalra and Planning Director Joe Horwedel to name just a few. By making light of the seriousness of politics, this event opens lines of communication between our townspeople, the politicians, and our Superheroes.
The great outdoors is another extremely popular leisure destination, and you can thank the Friends of Flood Park heroes for saving a 21-acre oasis.
After Flood Park in Menlo Park was slated for closing due to budget cuts, a grassroots movement flourished to save it. Friends of Flood Park (FFP) came together in Spring 2011 to save the park and ensure it remains open for recreational, environmental, educational and leisure activities. Parks like this are vital for a healthy community, offering stunning views, educational activities, recreation, and a home for indigenous wildlife. With state budget cuts, it is up to local community heroes to step up to the plate.
While enjoying the benefits of this outdoor oasis, our Superheroes are also keeping up with the latest Hollywood has to offer on their smartphones, a pleasure that’s easier than ever now that Hollywood and Silicon Valley are joining forces!
Anthony Zuiker, most recognized as the creator of CSI, is strengthening the ties between Hollywood and Silicon Valley. Wielding the power of digital mediums to reach his audience, he is confident he can reach exponentially more people than film and television alone will allow. Placing great emphasis on the creative freedom and speed of digital media, our hero uses the ability of rapidly changing avenues of distribution to keep close ties with the glitter and gold of Hollywood. By bringing in the tried and true model of film to the digital age, the power of creativity is far more accessible to all.

LEARN
I have looked up the available
leisure activities in Turlock. One good thing about Turlock is that the city
provides many parks throughout the town to play various sports. Also, some of
them have playgrounds for kids. Getting
out and playing has benefits to promote healthy bodies and minds. The current challenge to recreational
services is that the town only have few facilities to promote fine and
performing arts. ActAs a child, I wasn’t really active and didn’t play much sports, but I used to enjoy playing in a park. I can’t remember the last time I played with a swing. It was fun but I felt somehow weird…
Imagine
I have noticed there are many
people who own dogs in Turlock. Since there are many parks, we can have a pet
and human activity contest. It can have
a fetching contest, Frisbee, and agility challenge, etc. It does not require building
special facilities, yet it will provide a place for community to socialize and
also bond with their furry companions.

Learn- There are many little parks strewn throughout Modesto. These allow for many outside activities including playgrounds, sports, picnics, etc. There are also farmers markets that meet up frequently around town. More daily activity and better a diet help lead to a healthier life.Act-Im going to try to continue to play basketball and other activities to stay active, as well as continuing to eat better. I want to learn where and when the farmers markets meet up to take advantage of fresh grown foods. Imagine- I got to level 5 with a score of 47
I went out driving around our town with my family and my little brother and his family. Not so long, we had located a very scary Halloween Store! The scary robot creatures spooked us little kids all. After that we went to a all you can eat restaurant and there we had a great dinner. It’s been so long since the last time I get to spend time with my little brother, but spending time this day with him and his family made me so happy. I’ve learned that time flies so quickly. My brother and I are not kids anymore we had already became parents. And we’re so busy in our lives that we forget to laugh and play together like the old times and taking this night out together, it brought back that warm loving bond as brother and sister hood again.
Learn- When I first came to Turlock, I was surprised to see how many parks there were. I am from Los Angeles, and the parks are not neraly as abundant as they are here. This is great for playing sports, having picnics or simply for exercise walking around the beautiful areas. I think that some of the challenges are keeping these areas clean and safe, the city must keep this parks friendly that way they are safe. Act- As you grow older, your metabolism starts to slow down. I stopped playing sports like soccer, but kept eating my favorite junk foods. The parks here in Turlock help to encourage exercise and fresh air.Imagine- I got up until level 5 with a score of 46.
